A Few Words from the Secretary General
Few Words from our Principal
It is with immense pleasure I invite you all to the fourth edition of Navy Children School Model United Nations Conference.
MUN Conference gives you an opportunity to represent different countries and debate on the different agendas. This year the NCSMUN will simulate three committees – The General Assembly, Economic and Social Council and Human Rights Council.
I urge you all to participate in the NCSMUN and discuss and deliberate on the problems we are facing today such as the Syrian Crisis, trafficking in human beings and job training and creation in post- conflict nations.
The NCSMUN will give you an opportunity to hone your debating and negotiation skills, develop your political acumen, build your confidence and leadership skills and understanding of the problems that the world is facing today.
I welcome you all to the NCSMUN and wish you all learn and broaden your horizon on the way of becoming informed citizens and be the best you can be.

It is my greatest honour and privilege to invite you to the 4th edition of Navy Children School Model United Nations Conference, 2016.

Model UNs offer a platform, to students like me all over the globe, to engage as citizens of the world. The conferences I have attended have undoubtedly left me with a deeper understanding of the problems that 7 billion people in this world face, lessons that I could never learn from a textbook and memories that I shall cherish forever.

The global landscape today is scarred by conflict, exploitation and despair.
Nearly 11 million Syrians have been displaced leading to the worst refugee crisis witnessed by our generation, with over half of the country’s entire population being uprooted since 2011.

600,000 - 800,000 men, women and children are trafficked across international borders each year. Approximately 80% are women and girls. Upto 50% are minors.

In 2015, total global unemployment stood at 197.1 million – 27 million higher than the pre-crisis level of 2007 with economies emerging from conflicts suffering the most.
This does force you to wonder if we are after all doing enough to realize the vision set out in the UN Charter 70 years ago.

Although this conference is a simulation, the agendas being discussed are very real. Through your participation in this conference, you demonstrate your concerns for peace, justice and human dignity.
Here, at the NCSMUN’16, we promise you a conference that shall leave you with the best experiences and would make you come back for more.

I look forward to meeting you in person in August!
